Knobs and trees

I have been suffering from new house fever for a few months. I don't really know why I want a new house. Moving is a pain. The housing market is stinky. My house is nice, beautiful in fact and my back yard is really fabulous. God has really blessed us in this regard. In spite of this, I have still been yearning for a new place to call home.

This desire to move may be due in part to living in the same house for 6 years and not yet being done with the decorating. I will confess to still having a temporary paper shade hanging in the master bedroom dooor that goes to the backyard. The kind that you use for a week or two until your blinds arrive.......I have been using for six years! I can't believe I just told on my self! I have not hung curtains in most rooms and have not even attempted to decorate the game room that I had big plans for when we moved in. The list could go on and on and on.

Instead of getting a new house I got hardware for my cabinents and trees for the backyard!

My sweet husband and son installed knobs and pulls on each and every cabinent and drawer in the house. Let me just say it was not a small job - they installed 142 pieces. My guys did an outstanding job and now my cabinentry looks finished!!!

Trees for the backyard had been on our wish list since we moved into our house. We intended to plant them the first year we moved in but somehow we just never got around to it. Earlier this spring we happened upon some fabulous maple trees at Lowes. We borrowed a neighbors pick up truck and hauled them home where we struggled to get them out of the truck and into the backyard. Pat, Nicole and Matthew practically had to dig to China in order to plant the biggest tree. Thank God Nicole is freakishly strong!

We've been in our house six years also and the decorating still keeps going on. Or maybe by now I should classify it as redecorating. Next up will probably be having the master bath carpeting replaced with tile. That's been on our wish list for about five and a half years.
